Contraceptive services
The practice nurse will discuss all forms or family planning in normal surgery hours. If there is something she cannot deal with she will refer you to a doctor. Both doctor and nurse have special qualifications in family planning.
EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION is available at the surgery and can be given up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. Coils can be fitted by appointment only.
Travel clinic
The practice nurse can give advice for patients travelling abroad. Please contact reception for a Travel Form at least 4-6 weeks before departure. When you have completed the form, please return it to the surgery where the Practice Nurse will check and make a note of which immunisations you need.
If you can call the surgery approximately a week later the information should be ready for you. You will then be able to make an appointment for your immunisations which are supplied by the surgery (except for Yellow Fever, which is available at local travel clinics).
Flu clinic
Every Autumn the surgery offers flu vaccinations for patients especially those at risk of complications from flu, e.g. those with heart disease, diabetes, asthma, the elderly, and so on. Vaccinations are available from October to November so make sure you book early.
